MGB SNP Genotyping Assays
MGB (Minor Groove Binder) probes have significantly improved the number and composition of SNP targets that can be analyzed by enabling the genotyping of AT-rich sequences [Belousov YS, Welch RA et al. 2004, Hum Genomics, 209–217]. The incorporation of MGBs stabilizes probe-target hybridization and increases melting temperature (Tm), allowing the use of shorter probes, which are better suited for allelic discrimination.
IDT MGB SNP Genotyping Assays offer a simple, low-cost, high-performance genotyping solution. These assays include 2 primers and 2 PrimeTime MGB Probes that incorporate a 5′ reporter and a 3′ non-fluorescent quencher (NFQ), which reduces background signal and improve quantification. Multiple assay sizes are available. The Mini Assay (100 rxn) size is ideal for digital PCR (dPCR) platforms.
